Maintaining a Green Sedum Roof at Highcliffe Castle
We have been enjoying some sun at Highcliffe Castle maintaining a beautiful little sedum roof that was installed in 2018 over a newly reinforced ground level roof of the basement, to the rear of the Castle.
The roof covers one of the oldest parts of the building and formed part of the original house that stood there, but it had been suffering badly with damp, and was due to become part of the new visitor centre. The new roof was vital to make the external wall of the basement watertight.
To soften the effect of the reinforced roof it was covered in a Bauder Sedum roof system, complete with irrigation, and is now a stunning green carpet.
