Going Green at St Botolph’s Aldgate Centre
Our urban greening team have been busy at the St Botolph Without Aldgate Community Centre. Set in the Heart of London the inclusive Anglican church will be opening ‘The Aldgate Centre‘ – a new environmentally friendly community hall which will allow St Botolph‘s to provide more community service and support than ever.
The new building, which will also include cafe and office space, is built with the environment in mind and is big part of their commitment to be carbon neutral by 2030. The new building is equipped with air source heat pumps, high standards of solar control and a green wildflower roof.
The Wildflower roof, which will help bring some much needed biodiversity into the city of London, should be in full flower next summer providing a striking display of natural colour in the built up setting. It will also help insulate the building, mitigate storm water and reduce pollution.
