Marvelous Blooms: Cultivating Growth and Inclusivity

Wildflower green roof on special needs school roof
We have been back to Southampton this week carrying out our annual inspection and general maintenance on a wildflower meadow green roof we installed about 4 years ago at a special needs school.
Urban green spaces are widely acknowledged ways to enhance the health and well-being of a diverse range of individuals, including those with disabilities and special needs. When the importance of sustainability benefits for all is acknowledged, and efforts are made to establish and preserve such spaces, they become crucial in shaping a location’s identity and fostering a more inclusive, healthier, and sustainable future.
The roof continues to do well and is alive with wildlife, flowers and pollinators and we look forward to seeing its further progress on our next visit.
