Office Greening in City of London

The TUGC team was tasked with creating this vegetated walkway on an existing steel structure complete with a sculpture installation at Standard Chartered Bank. The structure is three floors up in a prestigious wide open office space so required scaffolding and careful manoeuvring to install.

This was a complex and testing challenge which produced a fantastic artistic living centre piece to the building finished off with Sean Henry’s “Walking Woman” sculpture which is installed on the walkway – and now surrounded by a lush green living carpet.

Qualitative evidence suggests that humans are innately and universally attracted to nature.  This often unconscious appreciation is referred to as biophilia. The living walkway and art installation will improve the wellbeing of the staff and help increase biophilia within the work environment.
