Kitchens, Pétanque & Biodiverse Roofs
It’s been a scorcher on our latest project in Wells. We were appointed to install a biodiverse green roof on the new factory extension at Charlie Bigham’s site in Somerset.
The main production facility is located in a former limestone quarry and is designed to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing, integrating with the natural environment. The new living roof will asist with this. And in addition to the biodiverse roof, part of the new roof will also feature a Pétanque Court for the staff to enjoy when they are not busy in the kitchens.
The existing kitchen area has been extended by 15 metres to optimise the production process and allow for greater energy efficiency, something the biodiverse roof will certainly help with. We look forward to seeing the planting establish and flourish in this stunning and unique location.
