Biodiverse Roof for New Henry & Hetty Factory

Biodiverse roof installation at Numatic factory
Despite the scorching temperatures our team have been hard at work in Chard, Somerset, helping put the finishing touches to the new eco friendly factory complex of Numatic International – most famous for their “Henry” vacuum cleaner range.
The new facility will streamline the production of the ever-popular Henry vacuum cleaner and the company’s wider range of products, by providing nearly 24,000m² of commercial floor space within a single dedicated building – and all topped off with a 2000m² Biodiverse roof.
The installation required careful planning and coordination with the the architects Boon Brown and main contactors CG Fry & Sons, and required nearly 200 tons of material to be craned up to the new roof for installation.
Numatic already boast impressive green credentials in their business practises and, togther with a dedicated new solar farm to power the new site, this Biodiverse roof is another example of their commitment to sustainability.
“A sustainable approach is integrated throughout all our operations, from design to manufacturing, distribution and when in use. Our teams always strive to innovate and introduce even more sustainable manufacturing practices at our 42 acre site in Somerset, United Kingdom.”
Numatic International.

We look forward to seeing the roof establish and thrive under our care as planting establishes and brings a large area of vital biodiversity to this manufacturing site.
