Eco-Friendly Upgrade: Green Sedum Roof for Sixth Form Academy
Our green roof team have been in the capital again this week, this time in the Crystal Palace area installing another Green Sedum living roof.
Not far from the famous Selhurst Park, home of Crystal Palace football club, is the Harris Aspire academy which “since opening its doors in 2013… has been committed in its vision to provide an outstanding education to all of its students overcoming barriers that may have prevented them from engaging fully in mainstream education. “
And its students will hopefully feel more inspired now that we have installed a section of green sedum roofing along the site’s frontage. Although apparently at ground level the sedum is actually above the lower below-ground level facilities of the academy. This makes the installation even more important with every detail needing careful planning, from drainage and flood mitigation to load baring and sound proofing considerations.
