We have reached that time of the year when many of our customers, both old and new, are looking to have their green roofs tended, inspected and maintained. So, with the better weather, we have been busy around the country trimming, tending and inspecting are wide array of lush green living roofs of all shapes and sizes. And as they say on a popular reality TV show, here are some of the best bits…
Turner Contemporary Museum – Margate.
The sun was shining on us in Kent as we revisited our own installation at the Turner Museum where part of the museum’s design is a living wildflower green roof system with planting that requires minimal maintenance. The green roof is part of the museum’s commitment to environmental responsibility, aiming to reduce its carbon footprint and connect with the natural environment.
We checked the structural integrity of the roof, inspecting drainage system, and ensured the health and vitality of the plants and grasses. We removed weeds, dead plants, and debris, and fertilized as necessary. As you can see from the images the roof is thriving despite the harsh coastal conditions.
Green and Wildflower Roof Maintenance.
We carried out a number of visits to thriving wildflower and sedum grassed roofs from London to Devon. As you can see from the images despite the lack of rain for a while most of them have coped incredibly well and are looking healthy and full of life – quite literally!
Tavistock Devon – An Old Favourite!
We were back in Tavistock, Devon attending to one of our favourite wildflower roofs installed on a residential block. We have been attending to this roof for over 10 years and it continues to thrive bringing a host of biodiversity and colour to the roof on this large building.
